Oklahoma K9 Academy Police K9 German Shepherd Patrol Narcotics

The Oklahoma K-9 Academy was started in 1987 with the purpose of training and education of canines and their owners. Over the years it has grown into a well know and respected training center for police service dogs and the general public. With a full range of services from German Shepherd rescue to imported service dogs there isn't much the Academy hasn't done. The Academy is a 3 acre facility located just of Interstate 40, 20 miles east of Oklahoma City. It consists of a 1500 square foot indoor training building and a 2 acre training field. The facility is 7 miles from numerous hotels and resturants.

Rick Greenland: The founder of the Oklahoma K-9 Academy has served as a police officer since 1986 and has handled 5 different police service dogs so far in his career. He is currently the supervior of his departments 4 dog K-9 unit and is still an active handler working the streets every night with his K-9, serving the same community since 1987. With 100's of documented canines and handlers trained he is well versed in real training for service applications. In the rescue community he is know for his ability to evaluate and turn unwanted German Shepherds into sound service dogs. He is a certified instructor with the State of Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training, state certifier, licensed by both the DEA and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics as a narcotics detector dog trainer. He has trained canines and handlers from around the nation including federal and state officers. All of his credential can be varified. His clients include some of the nations smallest departments, all the way up to the NYPD.
